Kennerly Lamishaw & Rossi LLP

Retail Real Estate

The Retail Real Estate Group of Kennerly Lamishaw & Rossi has unparalleled experience in representing major national developers and retailers in acquiring, developing, leasing and selling all types of retail projects, including regional malls, power and lifestyle centers, neighborhood grocery and drug-anchored centers, in-fill and mixed use projects, and stand-alone sites.

Our attorneys have negotiated leases, subleases, CC&Rs, reciprocal easement agreements, and related documents with, and are familiar with the forms of, most of the major national and regional anchor tenants in the country.

Ownership representation, which represents the majority of our practice, includes some of the country’s largest private developers, pension funds, REITs and investment advisors, and is national in scale.  Tenant representation includes the country’s largest used car dealership, as well as national and regional retailers.  The type of projects with which we have been involved as deal counsel range from traditional retail centers to restaurants, automobile dealerships, golf courses, sports and tennis facilities, theme parks and stadiums, and most recently, mixed-use urban developments, in which a large project includes a significant retail component in addition to apartment, condominium, hotel, office or university-related elements as well.

We are often asked to develop standard form leases, occupancy agreements and construction documents for many of our clients in connection with new developments and re-positioned assets.  As the retail environment continues to evolve due to disruptive technology and changing shopping habits, we continually strive to provide the most up-to-date advice and analysis for our clients to address this evolving retail paradigm and keep their documents current and relevant.
